The building represents modernism, and it was completed in 1958 as designed by the Hytönen-Luukkonen / Aarne Luukkonen architectural office.
The site has been examined in the Helsinki City Museum's City inventory (2014) and it has been rated as a potential conservation site in terms of urban imagery.
Hotel Arthur and Helsinki NMKY are located in the building. The building includes cultural-historical values related to NMKY's operations.
In the project, the oak windows of the hotel/business building were renovated, the exterior door of the hotel's main entrance was in poor condition, and advertising equipment was added to the facades.
During the repair, the building was treated as a conservation site and its urban value could be preserved.
